Do I need a license to buy wholesale products and sell them on a website?

If so where do you buy this lisence? Surely not as you are just buying products in bulk so you are getting them cheaper than normal and then selling them for the price you choose?
I am still not completley sure as people I know do not seem to have a license, they just buy a product in bulk from a supplier and then sell their product on a webiste and make profit because of their sale price.
